Important notice to our fans and partners
SP_LINEUP building kits are not official LEGO products, and are not endorsed, sponsored or authorized by the LEGO Group. It is important to note that SP_LINEUP is not a part of, nor has been endorsed by the LEGO Group. Therefore, any partners, resellers and others must understand this important point and specifically avoid using LEGO Trademarks in any and all publications, promotional materials and product web pages. Below is the official legal disclaimer that you will find on our website and packaging, and should be utilized where SP_LINEUP building kits are sold or promoted. When promoting SP_LINEUP products, or explaining their creation, it’s best to refer to products as brick building car kits rather than labeling them as LEGO.
“LEGO and the LEGO Minifigure are trademarks of the LEGO Group, which does not sponsor, authorize or endorse this site or these products.”
Intellectual Property Guidelines
A copyright, trademark or any intellectual property is important because it is used to distinguish one company’s products from those of another. Our trademarks must be protected in order to avoid confusion about whether sites, products, organizations or individuals are endorsed or authorized by SP_LINEUP. Intellectual property owners have a duty to prevent improper use of trademarks in order to avoid the public from being deceived or confused.
The SP_LINEUP logo may not be used on unofficial websites or those which do not have written approval from the company to do so. Likewise, the trademark name of SP_LINEUP may not be used in product titles, website urls or marketing materials without the same approval by the company. There should never be a situation where a reader or viewer is uncertain if SP_LINEUP has endorsed or otherwise supported a product or service unless with express permission.
Trademark Usage in Internet Addresses
The SP_LINEUP trademark should not be used in an internet address url nor should it be used in a product title. Because internet addresses and product titles are used in search engine optimization and can potentially confuse the public, using SP_LINEUP in the domain name is explicitly prohibited.
Whenever a web page or uploaded content features the SP_LINEUP trademarks should include an appropriate disclaimer such as “SP_LINEUP® is a trademark of SP_LINEUP which does not sponsor, authorize or endorse this site.” Note that usage of this or any other disclaimer does not dissolve inappropriate trademark usage nor alleviate any copyright violations.
Allowed Trademark usage under Limited Circumstances
Except for the SP_LINEUP Logo, other Trademarks may be used in a non-commercial manner to refer to SP_LINEUP products or elements with regard to discussion or reviews, so long as the trademark is not emphasized or used in a manner that could confuse the general public or observer to mistakenly believe that the content is sponsored by or authorized by SP_LINEUP.
